Join us for a weekend of exciting adventure in the heart of Snowdonia, where you’ll conquer two of the best grade 1 scrambles in Britain. This action-packed weekend offers not only challenging scrambles but also an opportunity to relax and connect with like-minded adventurers. With experienced guides and a sociable group, this is a chance to immerse yourself in Snowdonia's spectacular landscapes and historic mountains.
Your adventure begins on Friday evening, when you'll arrive at the hostel to meet your fellow adventurers and the host. After settling in, enjoy a freshly prepared meal and relax around the fire with some light-hearted games and music. Prepare for an early start the next day, as we head out for a full day of hiking and scrambling in the beautiful Ogwen Valley.
On Saturday, you’ll tackle the famous North Face of Tryfan, one of the best scrambling routes in Britain. The mountain's rugged terrain demands the use of hands for parts of the ascent, adding excitement to your journey. As you ascend, you'll pass the iconic Canon Stone, and reach the summit to witness the famous Adam and Eve boulders. After taking in the views, we’ll continue the scramble over the Glyders and descend via Y Cribin, marking the end of an unforgettable day.
On Sunday, you’ll take on Senior's Gully, a scramble that takes you around Llyn Idwal before tackling technical sections of the gully itself. After reaching the top, you’ll continue to Glyder Fawr, where panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges await. The descent via the Devil’s Kitchen offers a final challenge before returning to the hostel for a well-earned meal and reflection on the weekend’s adventures.
Located on the west coast of Wales, Snowdonia National Park is renowned for its rugged mountains and dramatic landscapes.
It covers 823 square miles and is home to Snowdon, Wales’ highest peak. The area offers some of the finest scrambling and hiking routes in the UK, with incredible views and natural beauty at every turn.
You’ll stay in a welcoming hostel where comfort and friendship are at the heart of your stay. After a day of scrambling, unwind with fellow adventurers and enjoy delicious home-cooked meals. The hostel provides an authentic, sociable atmosphere, perfect for reflecting on your day’s experiences.
