We had a great time paddleboarding and will definitely be back again!

Explore the rivers and lakes of Slovenia and Italy on this action-packed whitewater paddleboarding adventure. Paddle through alpine scenery, take on the emerald waters of the Soča River, and test your skills on Lake Bled. With a mix of SUP, rafting, and free time to explore, this trip offers an exciting way to experience the region’s waterways.
Day 1: Arrival in Venice and Transfer to Bovec
Arrive at Marco Polo Airport in Venice, where your guide will meet you for a scenic 2.5-hour drive into the Julian Alps. Once in Bovec, you’ll check into your accommodation, settle in, and enjoy a group dinner at the hotel to go over the plan for the week.
Day 2: SUP on Lake Predil & Rafting on the Soča River
The day begins with a short drive across the border into Italy for a SUP session on Lake Predil, a peaceful alpine lake surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery. Your guide will take you through the fundamentals of paddleboarding while exploring the hidden corners of the lake. After returning to Bovec for a break, the afternoon kicks off with a rafting trip on the Soča River. This session starts with a gentle section to practise paddling techniques before tackling fun whitewater rapids (Class III). There’s also the option to try cliff jumping and swimming in the crystal-clear water.
Day 3: Whitewater SUP Introduction
A short drive takes you to the launch point on the Soča River, where you’ll get an introduction to whitewater paddleboarding. The session starts in calmer waters before moving onto moderate rapids, giving you a chance to build confidence and refine your technique. The trip is split into smaller groups to ensure maximum safety and plenty of individual coaching. After the session, you’ll have free time to relax or explore the town.
Day 4: Free Day in Bovec
A rest day to enjoy Bovec at your own pace. You can opt for additional activities such as canyoning, zip-lining, hiking, or mountain biking. Alternatively, take a relaxed day exploring the local area, visiting nearby waterfalls, or simply enjoying the alpine surroundings.
Day 5: Paddleboarding on Lake Bled
A scenic drive takes you to one of Slovenia’s most famous destinations—Lake Bled. After collecting your SUP gear, you’ll paddle away from the main beach to explore the lake’s quieter spots, taking in views of the island church and surrounding mountains. After the session, you’ll return to Bovec for a well-earned dinner.
Day 6: Whitewater SUP Progression on the Soča River
Returning to the river, this session builds on the skills learned earlier in the trip. You’ll focus on refining your whitewater technique, learning how to navigate eddies, scout rapids, and make more advanced manoeuvres. The section of river used will be chosen based on water levels and group ability, ensuring the best experience for everyone. After the session, the rest of the day is yours to relax before the final group dinner.
Day 7: Departure
After breakfast, you’ll be transferred back to Venice for your flight home.
