Set off on a serene journey down the River Tweed with our guided canoe trips from Peebles to Innerleithen. Designed for adventurers aged 10 and above, this experience is perfect for all, from novices to seasoned paddlers.
Our journey begins in the charming town of Peebles, taking you through the heart of the Scottish Borders.
As you paddle down the River Tweed, you'll have the opportunity to see the landscape from an entirely new perspective.
Halfway through, we'll pause for a refreshment break, so don't forget to pack some snacks.
The adventure concludes in the picturesque town of Innerleithen, where we recommend arranging transportation back to Peebles - we can help to arrange this if needed.
On this 3-hour trip, you'll witness the picturesque tapestry of the Scottish Borders. Expect to see rolling hills and lush woodlands, diverse birdlife including herons and kingfishers, and if you're lucky, glimpses of otters by the riverbanks. The historical and cultural landscape will also reveal old castles and ruins peering out amidst the trees, and charming villages along the way, all while being immersed in the tranquility of the Scottish countryside.
The trip winds along the River Tweed, famed for its scenic beauty and wildlife, starting in Peebles and ending in Innerleithen. We'll meet in Peebles, with a precise meeting point sent to you upon booking.
We will meet at Kingsmeadow Car Park, Peebles, and finish at Toll Wood, Innerleithen.

We recommend old clothing/trainers that you’re happy to get a little wet. We also recommend a spare change of clothes, just in case! We also recommend you wear waterproofs. Please bring any snacks and refreshments you might want along the way.
We provide 30-litre dry barrels between two to keep your things dry, and provide all of the canoeing and safety equipment.
Generally, two people would normally share a boat.
Your group must all be aged 10+ to take part in the river trip. If you have youngsters aged 4+, we recommend taking a look at our loch and canal trips at the bottom of this page, which are suitable for younger paddlers.
We will always try to give as much notice as possible if an activity can’t go ahead. It could be the river is too high for canoeing or we are expecting weather warnings for wind. Sometimes things are out of our control and we may have to cancel with very short notice. In all cases, we will try to offer an alternative activity or location. In the event of a canceled activity by us, you will be refunded if we cannot find a suitable alternative date/time/activity for your group.
However, it’s worth saying that we will only cancel in the event that it is unsafe to paddle. A bit of drizzle won’t stop us! Please assume the trip is going ahead unless we contact you to say otherwise. The vast majority of our trips go ahead as planned, come rain or shine!
