Set sail on a full-day adventure aboard Bounty’s End, the replica launch from Channel 4’s hit series, Mutiny. Departing from Mount Batten, this voyage explores Plymouth Sound, the River Tamar, and historic coastal landmarks, offering a mix of sailing, history, and exploration. Highlights include the Mayflower Steps, Drake’s Island, Royal William Yard, and Cawsand Bay, with a stop for lunch and opportunities to paddleboard along the way.
The day starts with check-in at the Bounty Centre, just a short walk from the Mount Batten Watersports Centre. After a safety briefing, we set sail towards the Mayflower Steps and the historic Barbican, where the Pilgrims departed for America in 1620. From there, we head south to Drake’s Island, a 6.5-acre landmark steeped in naval history, offering impressive views of Plymouth Hoe and Mount Edgcumbe Country Park.
Sailing north into the River Tamar, we pass the Royal Naval Devonport Dockyard, the largest in Western Europe, before continuing towards Millbrook and the famous Brunel Bridge. A stop at Royal William Yard provides time for lunch, surrounded by grand 19th-century naval buildings.
The journey continues south to Cawsand Bay, once a smuggler’s haven, where there’s time for a coffee, ice cream, or even a swim. We then explore the Breakwater Fort and Bovisand Fort before sailing back to Mount Batten as the day winds down. Throughout the trip, our professional skipper shares stories of the area’s maritime past, making for an unforgettable experience.
