A kayaking adventure along the iconic Pontcysllte Aqueduct offers an unforgettable experience in North Wales. This 90-minute session allows you to paddle along the canal while taking in scenic views of the area, guided by a qualified instructor. It’s an ideal way to learn kayaking basics while exploring a UNESCO World Heritage site from a unique perspective.
When you arrive at the canal, your instructor will greet you and start with a quick safety briefing to make sure you're comfortable and confident in your kayak. Once you’re all set, they’ll guide you through the basics – how to paddle, how to steer, and how to feel at ease on the water. You’ll then set off on your adventure towards the famous Pontcysllte Aqueduct, enjoying the peaceful surroundings as you go.
As you approach the aqueduct, you'll be amazed by the incredible views and feel a real sense of achievement. The instructor will be with you every step of the way, offering help and answering any questions. Even if you’ve never kayaked before, don’t worry – your instructor will make sure you’re fully supported throughout. By the end of the session, you'll have learned some kayaking skills and experienced one of North Wales' most iconic landmarks from a whole new angle.
The kayaking experience takes place on the canal near Llangollen, in the heart of North Wales. The session is run entirely on-site, where the organisers own a 300-metre stretch of riverbank. In rare cases, the session may be relocated due to high water levels, but the instructor will inform you ahead of time if this is the case.
The setting offers a peaceful and scenic route that provides a fantastic view of the UNESCO Pontcysllte Aqueduct, giving you a unique and exciting way to explore the area.
