## FAQs

### What happens after I put in a booking request?

You will receive confirmation of your booking via email, and be able to speak directly to the centre via an online chat in case you have any further questions/requests.

### What should I wear/bring with me?

Before embarking on your kayak adventure, we recommend you consult the weather forecast and dress accordingly, taking into consideration the day’s wind and possible rain conditions. Remember to pack a spare set of clothes and water-appropriate shoes (you can find specific guidance below). While paddling in our Sit-On-Top kayaks, you might get splashed a bit, so be prepared to get a tad damp. Please note that we do not provide dry bags, and while capsizing is not expected, a splashproof rucksack should keep your belongings dry if you decide to bring it along in the kayak. What to Bring: Spare shoes (your regular ones might get wet in the kayak) Extra clothes in case you want to change into a dry set (limited shower facilities are available at Paddington) Sunscreen and sun hat for sun protection Glasses retainer Refillable water bottle For Warmer Weather: Opt for quick-drying sportswear or gym wear – short or long sleeve tops, leggings, shorts, or quick-drying trousers (try to avoid denim and heavy cotton as they retain moisture and can make you chilly). Footwear-wise, neoprene water shoes are optimal. However, a pair of flat-soled trainers, converse, or hiking sandals with a heel strap should work well too – just make sure they won’t fall off and you don’t mind them getting wet. Flip-flops are best avoided as they can easily come off. Also, consider bringing a light windproof/waterproof jacket or spare top in case you get chilly, along with a spare jumper or top for post-exer…

### Is there a safe place to leave my bag?

You can take a bag with you, provided it isn’t too large and it is splash-proof. Dry bags are ideal! We do not have lockers on site but personal belongings in a bag/rucksack can be left in the equipment cages on-site. Make sure you do not leave loose items – it’s best to put them in one or two bags. Shoes can be left on site too. We have never had anything go missing but avoid bringing valuables (or take them in a drybag) as the cages are shared by staff and all customers.

### Is there somewhere to put my bike?

We highly recommend cycling to the site. There are cycle stands nearby. Bring a lock with you. Folded Brompton bikes can be left in the equipment cages.

### How do I get to the meeting point?

We would love it if you chose to cycle or walk as these are the best options for the environment, but here are all of your options to choose from: Train: Brentford overground station is a 10 – 15 minute walk to Brentford Lock. There is a regular train service from London Waterloo and from Weybridge. Bus: There are several buses going direct to Commerce Road and also on nearby Brentford High St there are regular busses from Hammersmith and Hounslow. Cycling: There is secure cycle parking inside a locked area at the venue. You can cycle along the towpath to reach us and we are close to the new mostly segregated cycle route which connects Brentford to Hammersmith. Parking: The closest car park is the Holiday Inn car park, for which you pay an hourly rate. There is also Pay&Display parking at Brentford High Street.
