The kayaking tour is not overly strenuous and is suitable for beginners and all fitness levels. The focus is more on enjoying the marine wildlife and scenery rather than intense paddling. Our guides provide a relaxed pace, making it an accessible and enjoyable experience for everyone.
It’s best to wear comfortable, quick-drying clothing. Bring a light jacket for warmth, as ocean breezes can be cool. We recommend wearing sandals or shoes that can get wet. We’ll provide life vests, and if it’s particularly chilly, extra gear is available.
The kayaks used are stable, and tipping over is very rare. Our guides will provide a safety briefing before heading out, covering kayak stability and paddling techniques to help you feel comfortable.
You might get a bit splashed, especially when the playful seals are around, but you’re unlikely to get fully wet. We suggest bringing a change of clothes or a towel just in case, and dressing in layers for comfort.
Seals are the main attraction, often swimming around the kayaks and interacting playfully. Dolphins are also common in the area, and you may see pelicans, flamingos, and other coastal birds on the way to Pelican Point. Please note that wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.
The full experience takes approximately 4 hours. This includes the 4x4 drive from Walvis Bay to Pelican Point, time spent kayaking, and a return drive. After kayaking, we’ll enjoy a warm drink before heading back.

Yes, but we recommend bringing a waterproof or water-resistant camera, as splashes from the seals are common. If you don’t have a waterproof camera, you can put it in a dry bag (we can provide some storage solutions). Our guides are also happy to take photos for you.
After the kayaking session, we’ll offer a warm drink to help you recharge before the return journey. If you’d like additional snacks, please feel free to bring them along.
Safety is our priority. If the weather conditions are unsuitable for kayaking, we may reschedule or offer a refund. Generally, we’ll inform you as early as possible in the event of any changes due to weather.
