Kids had a great time with Chris. He managed a group of varied experience brilliantly and kept them all engaged and excited. Fab challenges and all were both chuffed and tired by the end of the two hours. Highly recommended as a kids party!
This three-day camp is perfect for children aged 6-9 who are new to mountain biking. With a focus on developing confidence and key biking skills, young riders will enjoy a fun and engaging experience while learning the fundamentals of biking.
Over three days, young riders will be introduced to key mountain biking skills in a supportive and playful environment. Each session starts with a bike check to ensure everyone’s equipment is safe and ready for use. The sessions will then cover various techniques like safe braking, cornering, and gear changes, alongside fun activities like sender ramps and mini obstacle courses.
The instructors will guide the children through handling different terrains, and the day will be filled with games and breaks to keep the energy high and the experience enjoyable.
The camp takes place at Deeside Activity Park, nestled in the picturesque hills of Royal Deeside. Located in the village of Dess, near Aboyne, this area is known for its peaceful atmosphere and excellent cycling routes.
The bike hub is fully equipped with everything needed for an unforgettable day of biking, ensuring that children can enjoy their time while learning valuable skills in a safe and engaging environment.
There are no prior mountain biking skills required to attend this camp. However, participants should be able to ride a bike with stabilisers if needed and have a basic understanding of how to pedal and steer.
A good level of enthusiasm and willingness to try new things will help children get the most from the experience.
With qualifications from British Cycling and Scottish Cycling, Chris and Kirsten bring years of expertise to the sessions, ensuring that each child receives top-notch coaching. They are not only skilled mountain bikers but also passionate about sharing their love for the sport with young learners.
By supporting local schools and clubs and focusing on sustainable biking, the team is committed to fostering a positive, eco-friendly biking culture. The camp’s relaxed atmosphere and focus on skill-building will help young riders build confidence and have fun while learning.
