Welcome to the RYA Safety Boat course in the picturesque Poole Harbour. Our 2-day course is designed to equip competent powerboat drivers with the essential skills and knowledge required for fleet rescue and small craft assistance. Whether you aim to provide rescue cover at your sailing club or have aspirations of becoming an RYA Senior Instructor, this course is your gateway to ensuring safety on the water.
During the RYA Safety Boat course, you will acquire the following key skills:
Over the course of two days, you will receive comprehensive training that covers fleet rescue, small craft assistance, and safety procedures. This knowledge is vital for maintaining the well-being of sailors, windsurfers, and canoeists during racing and training sessions.
Our training centre is nestled in the stunning Poole Harbour, providing an ideal environment for hands-on learning and practical exercises. Poole Harbour's picturesque setting and diverse water conditions make it the perfect backdrop for gaining safety boat skills.
To enrol in the RYA Safety Boat course, you must have RYA Powerboat Level 2 with prior powerboat driving experience and be 16 years of age or older. This course is suitable for those who want to enhance their safety skills on the water. Knowledge of sailing and other water sports is recommended.
The course spans 2 consecutive days 9:30-16:30, providing comprehensive training to ensure you're well-prepared for safe powerboat handling
This course is open to individuals who hold the RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate and have prior experience in driving powerboats. Participants must be 16 years of age or older.
The RYA Safety Boat course covers fleet rescue techniques, small craft assistance, escort and coaching boat responsibilities, and safety protocols for both racing and training activities
