The React Right course offers vital training for anyone wishing to take on the role of an emergency first responder. This versatile program, developed by SSI, equips participants with the skills and knowledge needed to respond to medical emergencies. Whether you’re a diver or simply someone interested in first aid, this course will help you become confident in providing essential care, including CPR, first aid, oxygen administration, and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
This course combines academic sessions with practical training scenarios to ensure you gain real-world skills in emergency response. The academic portion covers crucial topics, such as primary assessment, first aid, and CPR, where you’ll be introduced to foundational emergency care principles. You will learn how to stabilise an injured person and administer appropriate care until professional help arrives. You will also receive training on administering oxygen in diving emergencies, helping you respond to potential risks such as decompression sickness.
The practical portion of the course allows you to put theory into action. You will practice techniques such as CPR on mannequins, oxygen administration, and the use of an AED, ensuring you feel fully prepared to handle emergency situations. By the end of the course, you will be certified as an SSI React Right specialty diver, ready to provide essential first response care.
