Welcome to the Botanical Gin Foraging Course, a wonderfully fun and interactive way to explore the world of wild plants and create your very own gin blend. Perfect for groups and special occasions, this experience combines the joy of foraging with the art of mixology. I’m Adele, and along with my trusty dog, Lis, we’ll guide you through this unique and memorable adventure.
Your Botanical Gin Foraging Course begins with a leisurely forage in your local area, where we’ll search for plants that can be used as flavours or garnishes in your gin creation. The pace is relaxed, allowing you to fully engage your senses as we explore the natural world around us. After the forage, we return to base where the fun truly begins! You’ll have the chance to experiment with a variety of botanical herbs and tinctures, crafting a unique blend that suits your personal taste. To set the mood, I’ll prepare a cocktail (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) using wild ingredients, ensuring you’re in the spirit of the event.
The course is designed to be flexible, starting from your accommodation or a location convenient for your group. This makes it easy to integrate into your plans, whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a unique group activity in the Brecon Beacons.
No prior foraging or gin-making experience is required! This course is suitable for all skill levels and is designed to be inclusive and enjoyable for everyone. All you need is a sense of adventure and a willingness to try something new.
We offer more than just a course—we provide a personalised, engaging experience that connects you with nature in a fun and creative way. Our small, family-run operation ensures that every event is tailored to your needs, with individual attention and care. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a unique day out, our Botanical Gin Foraging Course offers a perfect blend of education, relaxation, and enjoyment.
Join us and discover the joy of creating something truly unique from the wild.
Wear comfortable clothing that’s suitable for walking outdoors, and sturdy shoes or boots. Since we’ll be exploring natural areas, long sleeves and trousers are recommended to protect against brambles or insects. A waterproof jacket is also a good idea, as the weather can be unpredictable.
While we provide a wide range of herbs, tinctures, and other botanicals for you to experiment with, you’re welcome to bring any special ingredients you’d like to include in your gin blend. Just let us know in advance, so we can advise on their use.
This course is primarily designed for adults due to the alcohol involved in gin-making. However, non-alcoholic options are available, and older children or teens can participate in the foraging aspect of the course with prior arrangement.
The course can still be enjoyable in light rain, so please come prepared with appropriate clothing. In the event of severe weather, we may need to reschedule the foraging portion of the course, but the gin-making session can usually be done indoors. We’ll notify you as early as possible if any changes are necessary.
The foraging walk is designed to be leisurely and accessible to most fitness levels. We move at a slow pace, focusing on observation and learning rather than covering long distances. If you have specific mobility concerns, please let us know in advance, and we can adjust the route accordingly.
Absolutely! This course is a popular choice for birthdays, hen parties, and other special events. We can tailor the experience to suit your group’s needs, including starting from a specific location or incorporating special requests into the gin-making session. Just get in touch to discuss your ideas.
Yes! Each participant gets to take home a 300ml jar of their own unique gin blend, carefully crafted during the course. This makes for a lovely memento of your experience, or a perfect gift if you can bear to part with it.
