Dive into the essentials of canoeing with a hands-on taster session designed for all ages and abilities. Under the guidance of an experienced instructor, you will explore the basics of paddling while enjoying the beauty of the water. This session is perfect for individuals, families, or groups looking for a fun and educational outdoor activity.
The session begins with an introduction to canoeing essentials, including how to safely enter and exit your canoe and manage the equipment. You'll learn to paddle forward, turn, and stop, while engaging in fun activities that reinforce these skills. The instructor will ensure that you feel confident and comfortable in your canoe.
Throughout the session, you'll also receive valuable tips on staying safe on the water and making the most of your canoeing experience. By the end of the session, you will have gained your Paddle UK Paddle Start Award, providing you with a sense of achievement and readiness for future adventures on the water.
Our sessions take place at various locations, ensuring that you can enjoy the experience at a site convenient for you.
Whether you’re near a scenic river or a serene lake, the location will be chosen to enhance your canoeing experience.
No prior canoeing experience is required for this session. However, participants should be comfortable around water and able to follow basic instructions.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who will remain on the bank or tow path during the session.
