Our advanced boat trip takes you beyond the usual routes to discover hidden gems of the Peak District. You'll learn advanced navigation techniques while exploring remote and beautiful locations that are only accessible by boat.
Morning (9:00 AM): Meet at our centre for minibus transfer to launch point
9:30 AM - 12:30 PM: Morning navigation session and exploration
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM: Lunch break at scenic location
1:30 PM - 4:30 PM: Afternoon adventure to remote locations
4:30 PM: Return journey and minibus transfer back to centre
Some previous boating experience recommended (RYA Level 1 or equivalent). Participants should be comfortable on water and able to swim. Minimum age 12 years (must be accompanied by adult). Good level of fitness recommended as the day involves active participation.
This award is suitable for instructors, managers, and adventure enthusiasts aiming to lead in Gorge/Ghyll environments. Participants should have basic outdoor skills and good fitness levels.
Bring suitable outdoor clothing, sturdy footwear, and personal items. We provide technical equipment for Gorge/Ghyll activities.
Moderate physical activity including scrambling and rope work. You should be reasonably fit.
After training you can complete the 2-day assessment. Successful candidates receive a recognised certification.
