Our introduction to caving for beginners is perfect for those who are new to the exciting world of caving. We cover essential aspects such as equipment, trip planning, understanding catchment areas, checking weather, cave call-out procedures, and selecting suitable venues. Additionally, you'll gain practical experience in caving, including map work, following guidebooks, and appreciating local geology.
Your caving adventure begins with a comprehensive introduction to the necessary equipment, ensuring you feel confident and prepared. We'll discuss how to plan a trip, considering factors such as catchment areas and weather conditions to ensure safety.
Next, we'll cover the cave call-out procedure and how to select the right venues for your caving experience. This will include practical exercises on reading maps, using guidebooks, and understanding local geology to make your exploration both safe and informative.
The practical part of the day will involve entering a cave system under the supervision of our experienced instructor, Ben. You'll get hands-on experience navigating the cave, practising techniques learned during the initial briefing, and gaining a deeper appreciation of the underground environment.

My wife and I recently went on a caving trip with Ben and Luke, and it was an unforgettable experience. We had such an incredible day that I’m already looking to book again as soon as possible. We explored one of the many caves in the area, descending through it…
Absolutely fantastic. The group absolutely loved it and the staff were brilliant. Really helpful and brilliantly organised. Great to have good facilities as well.
