What should I wear and bring with me on the day?

All equipment is included in the session. You will need to wear loose fitting clothing and a warm jumper or fleece to ensure you do not cool off too much between climbs as the instructor introduces skills. Long hair should be tied back and we advise that you have no loose stuff in your pockets (keys, phones etc) as these may fall out whilst you are climbing or be uncomfortable under a harness. Bring a pound coin for the lockers!

Are there changing rooms?

Yes, we have changing rooms, toilets and showers. We also have accessible toilet facilities and baby changing.

Lockers are available and can be secured with a padlock or with a returnable £1 coin. We sell padlocks at reception if you need one. Please kindly note that you are fully responsible for your belongings while on the premises.

Is there parking available?

Yes we have plenty of free, on-site parking.

Activity Highlights:

NB: This course is for 2 hours for 3 consecutive weeks - The booking form only lists the first day, but the two following weeks are included!

This course is designed to equip you with the skills to become self-reliant in an indoor climbing setting. Our aim is to nurture your ability to understand, minimise risks, prevent injuries, and savor the thrill of climbing without supervision.

Mastery of autobelay devices within a bustling climbing wall environment.

Course Breakdown

Roped climbing introduction with a focus on top rope safety.

Location

We are the heart of climbing in the Lake District, an iconic centre with a history dating back to 1995. Conveniently located a short drive from the M6 or Kendal train station, it is the original site of the Lakeland Climbing Centres.

Prerequisites

A desire to learn and a spirit for adventure.
Minimum age of 14 years.
Participants should be able to answer no to this question: Is the participant aware of any medical conditions or taking any medication that may affect their ability to take part in this session?
