Key Skills
What to Expect
Over the two days, you'll engage in a variety of workshops designed to give you the practical knowledge needed for trail running. The course will start with navigation techniques, where you’ll learn how to interpret maps quickly, find directions, and deal with getting lost on trails. As you progress, you'll work on improving your running tactics, focusing on posture, cadence, and stride to enhance efficiency. Downhill running is also a key component, as you'll practice techniques to safely navigate rocky and loose terrain.
On the second day, there will be a route planning session that will delve into using tools and resources to create the best running routes for different terrain. Additionally, you'll discuss what kit is essential for staying safe while trail running, including footwear and clothing recommendations. The course strikes a balance between learning and hands-on practice, ensuring that you're fully prepared for your next adventure in the outdoors.
