Dive into a serene paddleboarding experience amidst the tranquil waters of Vobster Quay quarry. Whether you're looking to polish your skills, play games, or simply relish the refreshing dip in clear waters, our SUP hire offers just the perfect setting.
When you arrive, you will need to register and sign a disclaimer, and we will give you a quick introduction and safety briefing before leaving you to enjoy your SUP session.
Please note that it is really important that you have prior SUP experience - a Ready or Ride or equivalent - to hire from us at Vobster Quay. Unfortunately, we will have to turn you away if you do not have prior experience, for safety reasons.
Our school is conveniently located within Vobster Quay, adjacent to the main building by the lake. For visual reference, refer to the map below which details the specified paddling area. We will send you our address and postcode when you book to make sure you can easily locate us.
Vobster Quay's sheltered waters are perfect for a serene paddleboarding experience. We primarily use O'Shea inflatable paddleboards, complemented by Paddle Co Alloy Paddles, to ensure the best quality experience for you.
To ensure you get a spot, pre-booking is essential. We can't wait to welcome you!
Yes, you must have previous paddle experience to hire.
Please wear footwear suitable for the outdoors for arrival and wetsuit boots, water shoes or old trainers for the lesson. Wear something comfortable, we have wetsuits available for hire, but if you have your own then please do bring it along. Please do not wear anything you could lose during the session, eg. rings, earrings, expensive watches, etc. All our participants must wear a PFD / buoyancy aid at all times (provided)!
We will contact you in case of adverse weather or inadequate conditions. Once a session is booked, please presume it will go ahead unless we contact you. Adverse weather means, thunderstorms, gail force winds, freezing cold conditions, or a downpour of heavy rain. All other conditions, including light rain, we will proceed as normal.
